Well Child Project
Many parents worry about their children and are unsure if they are providing adequate nutrition. For this assignment, I performed a nutritional assessment on a 5 year old child and praised the parents for all the ways they were doing just fine, along with a few areas they could reevaluate.

Cultural Competency Presentation
In an increasingly diverse country, it is important to be familiar with other cultural practices and attitudes towards food. For this assignment, I worked with two other students to research Chinese culture, emphasizing on attitudes towards food. We then complied and organized our findings into a presentation.

Grant Proposal
All programs, no matter how big or small, require funding to run. For this assignment, I worked with three other students to develop, implement, and evaluation a program for Mountainland Head Start to promote increased physical activity among families. We wrote a grant proposal for this project.

Letter to Congressman
Nutrition laws are passed by politicians, not dietitians. Therefore it is important for dietitians to make sure their congressmen are knowledgeable about the nutrition related legislation that they sign. For this assignment, I wrote a letter to a California congressman, encouraging him to vote in favor of mandating that students be given at least 20 minutes to eat.
